Former Belgrave High School pupil Ashley Williams has announced his retirement from professional football.
The Wales captain, 36, had been without a club since being released by Bristol City at the end of last season.
He won 86 caps for his country, leading them to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 and also played for Swansea City and Everton.
The central defender, who started off playing for Belgrave Bullet, said: “It has been an unbelievable journey and one I will look back on with my family and be immensely proud of.
“Football has taught me so much both on and off the field and I will take this with me into the next chapter.”
