Tamworth FC joint boss Gary Smith has hailed the efforts of the squad during lockdown two.
The Lambs have not played since seeing off Banbury United 2-1 in the FA Trophy on November 24.
But Smith says that, despite the frustration, he’s been delighted with the application and attitude of the group.
“It’s been very frustrating with the stop-start nature of things,” he said. “It’s not good for any of us.
“But one thing I can say is the lads have been a credit to themselves and the club during lockdown in terms of looking after themselves with the programmes we have put in place for them.
“They have been doing their bits at home and doing well with the fitness programmes we have set. We are trying to do as much as we can until we hear more.
“We are ticking over slowly, not to the extent we would like to be. We can’t get together and work on things as we normally would.
“But the lads have been working hard on their own and trying to keep in shape for when we get that call.
“I know they are itching to get back. They just want to get back to playing football and enjoying themselves.
“The players and the fans all want to get back to doing what they love doing on a Saturday afternoon!”
